Ella Lovins is a painter working mainly in oils. She is a second generation painter who picked up her first paintbrush at an early age as she worked next to her artist mom. She became obsessed with painting. From her mom, she found encouragement, experimentation, and a love of color. As she grew older, she began to study drawing and acrylic paint under the instruction of Gabriel Valles of Mentor Wings Art. At 15, she began painting digitally and at 16 she began experimenting with oils.

Her first significant project is a line of greeting cards. The cards are, “so pretty you can frame them.” She is currently working on a collection of oil portraits. Her paintings strive to depict her subject's emotional experiences. Given that her portraits are often of family and friends, she also tries to convey their individual personalities. She has also auctioned off many pieces to raise money for Partnerships for Children, an organization working with foster children.

Ella has received significant artistic scholarship to study at Hillsdale College. She intends to study a mix of art, business, and political science.
